I. About Us

Changping Laboratory is a new-type national research institution established as part of China’s strategic scientific and technological initiative. As an important component of the Nation’s strategic scientific capacity, the Laboratory is rooted in life sciences and oriented toward major national priorities. It focuses on key frontier areas including genomic medicine, immunology and immunotherapy, advanced imaging and intervention, and AI for biomedicine.

Bringing together leading scientific and technological innovators from across the field, Changping Laboratory advances mission-driven, organized research in fundamental mechanisms, screening and diagnosis, and therapeutic intervention. The Laboratory has also initiated the Cancer and Degenerative Diseases Consortium, which brings together more than 30 National Key Laboratories, medical institutions, and new R&D organizations. Through this platform, we are building an integrated innovation ecosystem that combines basic research, technology development, and clinical translation, accelerating breakthroughs in critical technologies and the practical applications of major scientific discoveries.

Changping Laboratory has assembled a team of more than 1,000 researchers and staff, including multiple academicians and over 100 high-level talents recognized at national and provincial levels. Together, they form a rapidly expanding and increasingly influential research community of outstanding quality.

In 2026, the Laboratory moves into its new permanent campus and has embarked on a new stage of development supported by world-class research infrastructure. Permanent Campus

The permanent campus of Changping Laboratory covers a total floor area of approximately 280,000 square meters, comprising a West Campus and an East Campus.

The West Campus houses the comprehensive research building, a lecture hall, and residential dormitories. The research building is a multi-functional hub integrating scientific research, offices, conference facilities, teaching spaces, exhibition halls, and recreation areas. The East Campus serves as the core scientific research district, featuring four laboratory buildings and advanced research platforms, all interconnected by a three-story podium.

II. Who We Seek

Applications are invited from candidates of all nationalities.

1. Leading Scientists: Those who have a doctoral degree, hold a position equivalent to associate professor or above in renowned overseas universities or research institutions, or hold senior positions in internationally renowned enterprises, have achieved significant internationally influential scientific research results in their fields, have the ability to lead a team independently, and have the potential to make breakthroughs in major scientific frontier issues.

2. Young Scientists: Candidates should hold a doctoral degree, aged not exceeding 40 years old (born on or after January 1, 1986), working in well-known overseas universities or research institutions. Those who have an official position in an institution or enterprise R&D institution and have worked continuously for more than 3 years, have achieved scientific research results with certain influence in their professional field, have the potential to become leading scientists and are capable of serving as a core member of major research programs at Changping Laboratory. For candidates who obtained their doctoral degree overseas, the work experience requirement may be considered flexibly. At the time of application, candidates should either not yet have taken up a full-time position in China, or should have returned to China on or after January 1, 2025. Successful candidates are expected to work full-time at the Laboratory for at least three years.

IV. Research Support

We will provide comprehensive and professional support across the full research lifecycle.

1. Funding support: Providing sufficient and stable research funding in accordance with the actual needs of the task. In addition, recipients of high-level scholars’ projects can receive national research funding support of up to 3 million RMB.

2. Research Conditions: Providing sufficient office and laboratory space for research, and equipping world-class experimental facilities and technical platforms.

In addition to core technical platforms in life sciences, such as molecular physicochemical analysis, flow cytometry and sorting, microscopic imaging, and laboratory animal resources, Changping Laboratory also features a world-leading automated high-throughput sequencing platform. With a comprehensive system covering all throughput scales, it supports multi-omics analysis and delivers large-scale, high-quality sequencing services for both research and clinical applications; China’s first cryo-electron microscopy (cryo-EM) platform fully compliant with BSL-2 biosafety standards; a Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) platform equipped with state-of-the-art MRI technologies. A mass spectrometry platform offering end-to-end "sample-to-data" solutions, including ultra-high-resolution and imaging mass spectrometry. A Data Repository and Intelligent Computing Center, housing a high-performance computing (HPC) cluster that provides massive storage and computing power tailored for AI-driven research.

3. Team Support: Assisting in building research teams and recruiting full-time staff and postdoctoral researchers. Supporting joint training of Ph.D. students with top universities in China.

4. Professional Services: Backed by dedicated technical and management teams, we provide end-to-end services spanning from basic research to commercialization.

Research Project Managers: goal-oriented project coordination, dynamic progress tracking, and resource alignment.

Intellectual Property Team: Proactive IP strategy, full-lifecycle management, and accelerated technology transfer.

HR Business Partners: End-to-end talent solutions and strategic human resources support.

V. Career Development

Individuals selected for relevant high-level talent programs and eligible under Changping District policies may also benefit from additional service support funds, rental subsidies, and other benefits.
